Life at Chimney Rock Festival 2024 @ Chimney Rock National Monument
Family-Oriented Festival is held at Chimney Rock's Visitor Center area. Learn about the skills of the ancients from Chimney Rock volunteers. Try yucca pounding, make a clay pot, design a pictograph, weave a textile, grind corn, throw a spear with an atlatl. Native American Tribal Dancers @ Chimney Rock National Monument Amphitheater
Roach Family Dancers (Lakota/Navajo) 2pm; Oak Canyon Dancers (Jemez pueblo) 3:30pm. These live performances are presented Free to the Public courtesy of the San Juan National Forest and Chimney Rock Interpretive Association. 2pm & 3:30pm.

An introduction to some of the plant species that grow at Chimney Rock and their uses by ancestral Puebloan people. The 1.5 hour guided tour includes the hike up Chacoan Great House Pueblo requiring negotiation of a steep, rough trail with exposure to heights and drop-offs. Reservations strongly recommended. $20, ages 13 & up; $10, 5-12. Must check-in at the Hwy 151 entrance gate, 4:30-4:45pm. 4:45-6:15pm.
