Trail Running in Pagosa Springs

Considering the hundreds of miles of trails in the area, it's easy to imagine that some people will choose to explore them by running.  In fact, there might not be a more beautiful area for trail running.  Choose between trails through dense forests, high alpine meadows or in a canyon, along a river.  The Pagosa Springs area offers trail runners a variety of terrain and any level of challenge desired.

Trail Running Events

The Devil Mountain 50k Ultra, to be held on July 18th, is one heck of a run!  The event ups    the ante with bigger climbs, higher elevations and a ton  of single track through some of the region's old growth forests. Beautiful, remote and the perfect mid-summer primer for Leadville or Wasatch. (More than 5,500' of climbing on epic mountain trail).

On September 26th, 2009, The Mountain Chile Cha-Cha wraps up the season with the famous Pagosa Springs music and chili festival. Celebrate the series, the season, trail running and getting kids outside on Pagosa's killer downtown trail course. Beautiful, challenging and remote, all right downtown.
