7 Pines Ranch offers 35 acres, with 2 ponds and irrigated pastures, all surrounded by the San Juan Mountains. The facility is close to the fairgrounds and downtown, with miles of quite roads and trails. The barn is heavily insulated and offers 9 stalls with windows that open up to the mountains. Each stall is provided with mats, mangers, water buckets and shavings each day. There is a wash rack, tack room as well as a well lit indoor arena. Outside you will find a large arena with excellent drainage, a round pen, 6 pens and one additional larg pen. Daily turnout is included, so are sheet or blanket care. Horses are fed twice a day including supplements and medication if necessary. Daily rates are $35 for stalls and $25 for pastures or outside pens. Rates are also available for weekly and monthly board.

The surrounding Weminuche Wilderness and national forest areas provide the perfect location to explore by horseback. Pacgosa Springs has many outfitters offering trail rides, pack and huntinmg trips, a variety of lodging facilities with horse boarding on site and ample camping options to fit your needs.
Horses are allowed anywhere within the National Forest, unless posted otherwise. You may take horses into designated wilderness areas, but the forest service recommends using low impact camping and horse tethering methods. Please do not tie horses to trees for long periods and use hobbles or high-lines instead. Please avoid wet, muddy trails to minimize damage from horse traffic.
Certain trails and trailheads may not be well-suited to horse use or trailer parking. For more information, regulations and recommended trails, stop by the Forest Service Office at 180 Pagosa Street in downtown Pagosa Springs.
