Geology Hike: Marine Fossils at 8000 ft? @ Coyote Hill Loop Trail
SJMA in conjunction with the US Forest Service, Pagosa and Bayfield Ranger Districts, is hosting educational geology hikes, free for the public, from May through October. Walk through Ponderous Pine meadows to a beautiful overlook of Pagosa Peak. During this hike, we'll go off trail and climb to some ridge-forming limestone outcrops in the Mancos formation that contain marine fossils and numerous calcite crystals. 9am-1pm. Registration required.

In this class, you'll wrap and layer fine wire to form delicate patterns and decorative detail - a traditional technique that adds richness and texture to wire jewelry designs. You'll leave class with a finished pair of flower earrings you'll be excited to wear! Perfect for beginners and enjoyable for all skill levels. All tools and materials are included in the class fee. 2:30-5:30pm. $65.
