Buckaroos Winterfest Breakfast Ride
Buckaroos Horse-Drawn Rides
Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Take a horse-drawn ride to Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast lodge, where you will enjoy a full breakfast spread and live music while viewing a hot air balloon mass ascension. After the meal, your ride continues through the pines and returns you to the starting point. $70 adult, $55 children 3-16, $5 children under 3. 8am. Winterfest 2026 - Mass Hot Air Balloon Ascensions @ Uptown in the Pagosa Lakes Area
See the balloons fill the winter sky over the Pagosa Lakes area. Grab a cup of coffee or cocoa, and come enjoy the spectacular view! Saturday & Sunday 1/17 and 1/18. Viewing starts at 8:30 am. Parking is NOT permitted on Hwy 160 to view the balloons.
Winterfest Red Ryder BB Gun Biathlon @ Alberta Park at Wolf Creek Ski Area
A unique, super-fun freestyle ski event in which participants can either classic or skate ski while target shooting with Red Ryder BB guns provided by the Pagosa Nordic Club. 10 seconds added for each shot missed during the race but no gun or shooting experience is needed. Parents can help the young ones cock and shoot. Kids really love this race! Prizes for the top finishers and best costumes along with participant drawing giveaways. Great fun for all ages! 9am.
Winterfest Barkus Parade! @ Town Park
Presented by Rugby's Rescue House. Get ready for a pawsitively fun day at the Barkus Parade, our annual canine costume contest! Registration and lineup begin at 9:30am, Parade at 10am. Just $10! All proceeds will go to Rugby's Rescue House, a wonderful non-profit dog rescue dedicated to helping local dogs in need. Bring your furry friends dressed in their best winter costumes and make this a day to remember!
Winterfest 2026 - Penguin Plunge @ Pagosa Springs Visitor Center
Support your favorite non-profits by raising money and plunging into the freezing cold San Juan River, or enjoy the view from the San Juan River Walk. These brave souls don't just jump in and get out, we make them REALLY plunge into the river! Registration to plunge required along with raising money for a community non-profit organization. Registration at Noon, Plunging begins at 1pm.
Sound Journey @ The Edge of Silence
No reservations required, however Eventbrite ticket holders are considered reservations. Tickets at the door are $30 each. Sound Journey is 1 hour. Feel free to bring your own Yoga mats, blankets and neck pillows, however we usually have what you need. Don't have an Eye Mask? We have them for sale.
