Skijor Pagosa is an exhilarating adventure competition where horse and rider team up to pull a skier or snowboarder at high speeds through an obstacle course packed with jumps, gates, and rings. This thrilling event blends Pagosa Country's rich skiing heritage with its cowboy roots, creating a fast-paced spectacle that’s sure to captivate the crowd. Competitors race for cash prizes, with winners determined by the quickest times.
Even better, our Skis and Saddles Event is the perfect excuse to get outside, soak up the beauty of southern Colorado's hidden gem, and make unforgettable memories with friends and family.
We are a passionate, volunteer-run board of local residents and business owners who are dedicated to showcasing the very best of Pagosa during the winter season. With a history spanning over 100 years, skijoring is the ultimate fusion of skiing and horsemanship—a tradition we’re proud to bring to life in our community.
