Opening Day @ Chimney Rock National Monument
Chimney Rock National Monument lies within the San Juan National Forest, between Pagosa Springs and Durango, encompassing 4,726 acres, preserving hundreds of prehistoric sites that dot the landscape around the twin spires. A sacred place that celebrates the life of Ancestral Puebloans over 1000 years ago.

Life at Chimney Rock Festival 2024 @ Chimney Rock National Monument
Family-Oriented Festival is held at Chimney Rock's Visitor Center area. Learn about the skills of the ancients from Chimney Rock volunteers. Try yucca pounding, make a clay pot, design a pictograph, weave a textile, grind corn, throw a spear with an atlatl. Visit with presenters who will share the importance of astronomy and dendrochronology. Native American arts and crafts for sale. 970-883-2455 or 970-731-7133. 10am-4pm.
