Hot Air Balloon Mass Ascension–8:00am Uptown
Downtown Pagosa Springs by the San Juan River. Enjoy the spectacular winter view as balloons fill the sky.
DUST2 & Pagosa Mountain Sports Fat Bike Fun Race -Yamaguchi Park 8:45am
Registration starts at 8am and crepes will be served at the race. 12K, 6K, KidK $20/adults, $10/racers under 18. This is a fun activity for the whole family! Rentals are available at Pagosa Mountain Sports for $20. All proceeds to benefit DUST2 Youth Cycling Team.

Pagosa Nordic Club Learn to Cross Country Ski Clinic -10:00am at Cloman Park
This introductory clinic is great for never-evers, beginners and intermediate level X-C skiers. Learn skate ski and classic cross-country ski basics from some of Pagosa Springs’ best skiers. Come learn how to make these outdoor winter activities even more enjoyable. Bring your ski gear; skate skis or classic kick and glide. All local ski shops rent cross-country ski gear and offer special rental discounts for these clinics- just mention you are attending the clinic. Donations of $5-$10 per person are encouraged.

4th Annual Barkus Parade -11 am in Town Park
The Lost Cajun is hosting this wonderful event as a benefit for the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs. Bring your costumed pet and parade with us! Make a donation to the humane society and get a free cup of gumbo.
10th Annual Penguin Plunge – Registration 12pm, Plunge 1pm San Juan River Walk
Support your favorite non-profits by raising money and plunging into the freezing cold San Juan River, or enjoy the view from the San Juan River Walk. These brave souls don’t just jump in and get out, we make them REALLY plunge into the river!

Take a horse-drawn ride through the meadow and magical Christmas tree forest to arrive at The Claus Cookie Cabin. There, you will be served Christmas cookies and cocoa by Mrs. Claus and have a chance to meet and take photos with Santa himself! Enjoy a warm bonfire and special family time before returning with the horses. 1 hour duration; time slots starting at 3:15pm. $50 adults $40 children 3-12 $5 under 2. Advanced reservations required.

Get ready to experience the magic of the 19th Annual Festival of Trees! Stroll through a wonderland of 20 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, each created by local non-profits to raise funds for their causes. Live Music with Steve Blechschmidt. Dinner provided by Archuleta Seniors Inc, Cash Bar, Door Prizes. Doors open at 5:30pm. Tree Auction at 7pm. Individual Tickets: $30. Table Reservations available for groups. Rated PG. For two holiday seasons Wicked, the record-shattering, Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon will become a gravity-defying cinematic sensation. The feature-film adaptation of the untold story of the Witches of Oz is directed by electrifying filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, this year's In the Heights). Doors and Caldwell's Liberty Bar open at 5pm. Movie at 6pm.
Once again, the Pagosa Springs area will be bright with holiday cheer this season. The Pagosa Springs Area Tourism Board and The Pagosa Springs SUN are sponsoring a lighting contest this holiday season. The lighting contest will make the holiday season shine. It includes enhanced lighting in downtown Pagosa as well as many other festive events taking place in and around the Pagosa Springs area November 28th through the end of December. Lights will be on every evening from 6-8pm.
