Mysteries of Chimney Rock Morning Tour

This two-hour tour takes visitors along the Mesa Village Trail, the Great House Trail & a panoramic view from atop the Mesa Ridge aimed specifically at interpreting the history and significance of Chimney Rock and the Ancestral Puebloans who inhabited the area more than 1,000 years ago. Tickets: $20, ages 13 & up, $10, 5-12. 8-10:15am.

Tour takes visitors 1/3 of a mile up the Great Pueblo Trail and makes several stops along the way to enjoy the ancient Puebloan structures built over 1000 years ago. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday mornings. $6-$12. $20 USFS use fee/vehicle activity pass. Recommended for ages 5 & up. Check-in at plaza kiosk 10am. 10:30am-12pm.

3rd Annual Pumpkin Auction to Support the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs @ Riff Raff on the Rio

Join us at this year's 3rd Annual Pumpkin Auction to support our community's animal shelter! This is a fun, family-friendly, and free event! On Friday, October 18th from 4- 8 pm, pumpkin art masterpieces created by local professional artists will be displayed throughout Riff Raff on the Rio. You can view, vote, and/or bid on your favorites. When you dine in at Riff Raff, a portion of the proceeds will go to supporting the shelter animals. Costumes are encouraged!

Full Moon Tour @ Chimney Rock National Monument

Beginning about an hour before moonrise, an informative lecture on topics specific to the site followed by Native American flute as the full moon rises. Volunteers light the trail to the mesa top for a full moon program before the twin spires. A speaker tells the story of the people and their likely relationship with the moon, sun, and stars. Check-in 5:15-6pm. Program 6:30pm. $25.

Geology Morning Tour

The 2.5 hour guided tour explores local geology and its relationship to the daily lives of the ancestral Puebloans. Hike up to the Chacoan Great House Pueblo. Guests must meet their guide at the Hwy 151 entry gate during check-in. Tickets: $20, ages 13 & up; $10, 5-12. Check-in 7:45-8am. 8-10:30am.

Chimney Rock National Monument will host a live event at the Amphitheater to explore the current Major Lunar Standstill at this important Native American site and its relationship to Stonehenge and other worldwide locations. Skis and Saddles Skijor Pagosa

Skijor Pagosa is an adventure competition where horse and rider pull a skier as fast as possible through an obstacle course of jumps, gates and rings. Skijoring combines Pagosa Country's finest skiing heritage with its cowboy roots creating a fast and curious spectator's event. Participants compete for cash and prizes based on the fastest times.
