Learn how to build your own bamboo fly rod. This course includes six days of master rodsmith instruction, as well as all the materials and tools needed in beautiful downtown Pagosa Springs, Colorado, on the San Juan River. A completed two-piece, one-tip bamboo fly rod of your choice of weight (3wt-6wt) and length, choice of agate stripping guide, reel seat spacer, and grip type and size. All participants will also receive an organic hemp rod sock, premium rod tube, and shop apron to take home with them upon class completion. PJ's Fine Bamboo Rods provides all participants with the tools and equipment needed to complete the rod. A $500 deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance of $2,095 is due two weeks before the start of the class. The deposit and remaining balance can be paid on the website, or a recurring invoice can be arranged for payment. Students should be prepared for six full days of class to complete their rods in the allotted time. There will be a break for lunch each day and an estimated end time to the day. However, both the lunch hour and after the end of class time can be used for participants to catch up if not completed with the steps for the day. Please do not make alternative plans for any portion of the classroom time to allow enough time to finish the rod in six days.

The Pagosa Springs Area Tourism Board and The Pagosa Springs SUN are sponsoring a lighting contest this holiday season. The lighting contest will make the holiday season shine. It includes enhanced lighting in downtown Pagosa as well as many other festive events taking place in and around the Pagosa Springs area November 28th through the end of December. Lights will be on every evening from 6-8pm.

Nutcracker Pancake Breakfast and Storybook Performance @ Pagosa Springs High School
Support the Pagosa Springs Dance Academy at our annual Nutcracker Pancake Breakfast and Storybook Nutcracker performance. Proceeds from the breakfast help fund safety enhancements for the studio, including window coverings to protect dancers and new flooring designed for injury prevention. Take a horse-drawn ride through the meadow and magical Christmas tree forest to arrive at The Claus Cookie Cabin. There, you will be served Christmas cookies and cocoa by Mrs. Claus and have a chance to meet and take photos with Santa himself!
